To be swallowed accidentally
NEW work in progress, currently in residency at Dansverkstaedid, Reykjavík
PROJECT HOFIE
Project HOFIE is a platform creating performances rooted in collaboration and experimentation. The project consists of a growing body of work; from the series HOFIE I–V to duets, solos, and group performances. Works such as 'How can we make this circle straight?', 'How can we break this circle?', 'BRATZ', 'Bad Boogie Ballin’, 'To Be Swallowed Accidentally', 'Where Light Lingers', and the recent 'Unsure Materials for a Variety of Numbers'.
Developed through residencies at Dansverkstæðið in Reykjavík, Leifshús in Akureyri, Gróska Garðabær, Pavillon K in Denmark, and DeRUIMTE in Belgium, these projects have evolved in dialogue with different spaces, contexts and collaborators.
Since its founding (2020), Project HOFIE has collaborated with around ten artists from diverse artistic disciplines and nationalities, continually expanding the project’s language.
Our mission is to serve as a platform for artistic collaboration, bringing together dancers, choreographers, and other artists within an open framework and invites collective authorship.
Beyond performance-making, Project HOFIE, led by Linde Hanna Rongen, develops a movement practice grounded in contemporary technique and partnering. This practice has been shared through teaching at the Iceland University of the Arts, Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts, Dansverkstæðið, and other professional training platforms in Iceland and abroad.
